Chennai Cost to 97 run victory

Centurion: Wayamba Elevens were no match for IPL champions Chennai Super Kings and went down by a massive 97 runs in their Champions League T20 encounter at Centurion.
Chasing 201 for victory Wayamba Elevens were bowled out for 103 in 17.1 overs.
The Wayamba innings got of to the worst possible start as Jeevantha Kulatunga was out for a duck in the very first over bowled by South African all rounder Albie Morkel.
Captain Jehan Mubarak and Mahela Jayawardene fell in quick sucession to leave their side in further trouble as Wayamba were reduced to 18/3 in the fourth over.
Morkel picked up his third wicket when Kushala Perera was caught by Muttiah Muralitharan.
Things went from bad to worse for Wayamba Elevens when Chennai off spinner Ravichandran Chandran bowled Kaushal Lokuarachchi and Thisara Perera in the sixth over to leave them stuttering at 35/6.
Shalika Karunanayake and Isuru Udana led a mini recovery and put on 27 runs for the seventh wicket. Udana was unlucky to be caught down the leg side by CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni of the bowling of Lakshmipathy Balaji for 13.
Muralitharan with the magical figure of 800 printed on his shirt got his third catch of the evening when a brilliant diving effort by him sent back Rangana Herath.
Ajantha Mendis provided some entertainment by stricking a few lusty blows but it was a case of too little too late.
Wayamba were all out in the 18th over when Karunanayake was stumped by Dhoni of Murali's bowling for 25 which was the highest score of the Wayamba innings.
