Warriors thrash Wayamba by 7 Wickets

Port Elizabeth: Experienced Mark Boucher and Justin Kreusch took Warriors home by seven wickets after Juan Theron's three wickets restricted Wayamba Elevens to 153 in the second game of the Champions League at the St. George's Park on Saturday.
Boucher (40 off 26) took off from the time he joined Kreusch (37 off 29) in the middle and played some delectable shots.
Collin Ingram and skipper Davey Jacobs took Warriors' innings forward after the home side lost Ashwell Prince early in their pursuit of Wayamba's total.
Chanaka Welegedara provided Wayamba an early breakthrough as he clean bowled Ashwell Prince in the third over of the second innings.
Earlier, Juan Theron's record-breaking haul of three wickets for 23 runs not only made him the highest wicket-taker for Warriors in Twenty20 cricket but also led the way in restricting Wayamba to a manageable score of 153/9.
Jeevantha Kulatunga (59 off 44) was the highest scorer for Wayamba and was matched stroke for stroke by Kushal Perera (39 off 24). But Perera's dismissal led to a flurry of wickets in the end as Warriors managed to keep the score in check in the death overs.
Earlier, Rusty Theron wrecked havoc in the first over, removing Mahela Jayawardene (0) and Mahela Udawatte (2) but Kulatunga's partnerships with Jehan Mubarak and Perera helped Wayamba put a fighting score on the board.
Ntini struck twice in his last over and was the second best wicket-taker for the Warriors. Spinners Johan Botha and Nicky Boje kept the scoring in check and took a wicket apiece after a damaging first over by Theron.
It will now be up to the spin-heavy Wayamba team to restrict a powerful Warriors' batting lineup to create the second upset of the tournament.
